In 1991, I started dabbling with Paintbrush 4, a 256 paint program.

I also had a video scanner, so I started playing around with video scans.

Around the same time I became interested in fractals.

I've been using the program FRACTINT ever since.

I had never considered myself an artist.

In fact, when I painted in school, I never mastered using a brush and considered my work a failure.

Then I started painting on computers. A great discovery.

I found that I was an artist with a mouse! And that I could manipulate images and colors in ways that were not possible
with traditional methods.

It freed me to do the things I saw in my head.
